Heavenly Recordings features on BBC4 documentary ‘Music for Misfits: The Story of Indie.’

We’re pleased to announce that Heavenly Recordings has been included in the final episode of BBC4documentary ‘Music for Misfits: The Story of Indie.’

The programme which focuses on the impact of independent record labels features interviews with Heavenly Recordings founder Jeff Barrett, Saint Etienne band member & author Bob Stanley and current Heavenly artist Gwenno.

The programme is available to watch back on BBC Iplayer, here.

We’re also delighted that the programme features our friends at Rough Trade Records, Domino Shape Records. There are interviews with 1965 Records founder James Endeacott and regular Caught by the River contributor and author of ‘How Soon is Now’ Richard King.

An insight into the ups and downs of independent record labels, it’s a must watch for fans of music and indie labels. Mark Radcliffe navigates the three part series from the incarnation of indie labels in the 1970s to their strong continuation and links with new and alternative music in the present day.
