Caught by the River have announced two Social Club events taking place in the north of England next month. With funding from the Arts Council, both events will be hosted in grassroots community venues.
The first takes place in Todmorden at The Golden Lion on the 20th, and will feature readings by The Outrun author Amy Liptrot, poets/spoken word artists Zaffar Kunial and Roy, and a discussion about The Willowherb Review (a platform set up to celebrate and support nature writers of colour) from some of it’s contributors. MC duties will be handled by Anna Wood.
The following day, Thursday the 21st, they’ll head to Small Seeds in Huddersfield. Amy Liptrot will join them once again, this time in conversation with Jessica J. Lee. Poet Toria Garbutt will be reading, as will writer and Huddersfield postman Kevin Boniface. On top of all that will be a rare performance from the legendary Pale Fountains and Shack member John Head.
Caught by the River have also teased a third event, to be announced within the next few weeks. Sign up to their mailing list to keep up to date.
Tickets for each event are £6. If you’re feeling generous, you can also purchase a suspended ticket, which can be claimed by anybody who would like to attend but is financially unable to do so.
