Next week is Independent Venue Week, “a 7-day celebration of music venues around the country and a nod to the people that own, run and work in them, week in, week out.”
The Social will be hosting events throughout the week, including an all-dayer on Saturday the 1st of February.
First up though, on January 27, So Young Magazine launch an exhibition of illustration from their pages, with DJs upstairs and live sets from Drug Store Romeos, Legss, Norman and some special guests in the basement.
The following night, Tuesday the 28th, Imperial Wax play a headline set with support from The Bug Club. Imperial Wax is made up of Keiron Melling, Dave Spurr and Pete Greenway – the longest serving and last line up of legendary Manchester band The Fall – plus frontman Sam Curran.
Next, on Wednesday 29th Jan, Council Records invite Ugly, Social Contract and special guests to the venue, with DJ sets from the label lot.
Finally, the all dayer takes place on the Saturday and features this mega line-up:
Goat Girl (DJ)
