Heavenly’s love for The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge has been pretty well documented already. We’ve held numerous weekenders and parties there, including our 25th anniversary celebrations. It’s a vital community venue which has given inspiration and a platform to many young bands of the Calder Valley such as The Orielles, Working Men’s Club and most recently The Lounge Society.
Mal Campbell (Hebden Trades Club) Heavenly 30 playlist
Venue owner, Mal Campbell, is a true Heavenly ally so we asked him if he would be the next contributor for our Heavenly 30 Spotify playlist. Check it out here!
Doves ‘Black and White Town’
We were so looking forward to being up in Hebden this weekend for our Heavenly 30 weekender. As Doves were meant to be playing tonight, we are remedying our blues by revisiting the band’s 2004 single ‘Black and White Town’ with its incredible video directed by Lynne Ramsay.
King Gizzard at The Trades Club, Saturday 24th February, 2018
“I remember this show so fondly! Having seen Gizzard a handful of times already, at way larger venues, I was so excited to see them play in such an intimate space, and one that holds such sentimental value for myself and us as a band too! There were so many friendly faces in that crowd, a familiar feeling upon entering the Trades for any gig, but having the Heavenly Recordings crew in there for that moment was extra special.” (Sidonie Hand-Halford – The Orielles)
Wendy Barrett perfectly captured the moment Sid (Orielles) crowd-surfed at the front of this raucous gig. This took place at the Heavenly Hebden Trades Weekend, two days after playing their biggest ever show at the Brixton Academy.
